The photoshop colour rework of my sketch, which can be seen unaltered here: [link]

This is a Phantasy Star Online fanart dedicated to my recently returned to DA friend, ~UltraViolete, as sort of a thank you for an awesome giftart she did for me: [link]

The boss Olga Flow, who is freefalling head first down a futuristic lift shaft. In game you fight him from atop the lift, and I tried adding that in here, but didn't like how it came out and edited it out.

I didn't think there was a hope in hell's chance I'd actually get this coloured, but despite being quite a daunting task, I got through it fairly quickly. Perhaps not the most sensible way to spend my time with the history exams tomorrow, but I've revised as much as is actually going to do me any good ^^; just gotta try my best and have faith in luck now.
Wish me luck people.

All in all, I'm quite proud of this picture. Not much else to say. I really hope you like it Ame :)
Let me know what you think, and please leave your thoughts-I appreciate any and all comments.

:iconfaulken:
Thanks very much :D glad the colouring impressed you, and I REALLY appreciate the favourite ^^

Holy moly thats impressive! O.o I love your gentle colouring with the CG background, and all the detail.
Are the details on his skin added in using textures or from you shading with a pencil first?

Nice work again. The background works really well with this picture. I recommend adding more contrasting and brighter highlights on Olga Flow's design to give a glowy shiny feel. Good job.

Wow Luke, this is AWESOME. I'd say easily your best colored work so far. It's just that good :XD: The background is genius, and really adds a lot to the picture. You really get a sense of the crazy freefall of doom which is that boss battle. This picture makes me want to replay that fight very much, actually <.< Olga Flow is so cool.

You SHOULD be proud of this, as it is hard to make Olga Flow look as awesome as he deserves and you pulled it off very well. All the details are great and painstakingly done and the colors are very rich. I love how you colored his sword for some reason. Flowen has the dark flow, he's such a haxx0r!

So yes, very cool :XD: And of course I like it! Thank you very much for all the effort put into it^^ It really is good.

Holy mother of a rappy that's amazing :XD:!!!!!!

The background really brings the motion of the piece to life and I'd love to know how you got the lights like that, they look fantastic and the angle they're done at is perfect!

I'm also loving the attention to colour detail on Olga, he looks like the badass he really is! :XD:

Totally awesome work, well worth a :+fav: :D

The details on his skin are just from going over the original ink lines and pencil shading with photoshop brushes, and adjusting little things like contrast, brightness and opacity :)
I always duplicate my lineart when I'm working in photoshop, set the duplicate to the top layer, click blending options and set it to darken-that way it makes a duplicate of the lines and textures to go on top of everything without doing so for the white space on the paper as well

Thank you-glad you were impressed, I was quite proud of how this one came out
